Abstract

Internationalization strategies have been used by several small businesses in order to develop a superior performance over time. These actions might be studied by dynamic capability theory, which provides the understanding of integration, building, and reconfiguration of organizations’ internal and external competencies in order to face environmental change. Furthermore, the dynamic capabilities change over time and they have adapted to specific requirements from internationalization processes of companies. This paper was based on qualitative-descriptive research by a process approach. The single case study analyzed the relation between the internationalization process and the dynamic capabilities transformation in a small industry of the organic sector. The result evidenced that human resources management and innovation potential were the dynamic capabilities that most contributed to the internationalization process of the organization studied. In addition, the export culture incorporated in the company reflected the commitment with the decision to compete abroad.
